Hodkinson: 62nd Stuttgart Composition Prize at Eclat Festival

Juliana Hodkinson's composition can modify completely/in this case/not that it will make any difference … convinced the jury in many ways: "From the variety between the different instrumental sources - the solo electric guitar on the one hand and the orchestra on the other – the composer brings forth a highly energetic and compact music, that contains a rich sound pallet. Not only the traditional musical building bricks as the solo concerto, the concept of virtuosity and the power of sound undergo an extremely convincing revaluation.”
After the award ceremony for the 62nd Stuttgart Composition Prize on January 31, 2017, the Ensemble Mosaik, conducted by Eno Poppe, will perform the German première of Lightness (2015) with the composer present. On February 4 the SWR Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Manuel Nawri and with Aart Strootman on the electric guitar, will perform the award winning can modify completely/in this case/not that it will make any difference … (2015).
