Resonate

Resonate is the new fund and resource which encourages professional orchestras to programme into their repertoire the best pieces of British music from the past 25 years. A joint initiative between the Association of British Orchestras and the PRS for Music Foundation, with funding from The Foyle Foundation, Resonate aims to inspire more performances, recordings and broadcasts of outstanding contemporary repertoire.
The PRS for Music Foundation will offer grants of up to £10,000 to orchestras who commit to exploring contemporary UK repertoire as part of a season or tour and longer term audience development programme. BBC Radio 3 is the broadcast partner for Resonate and will aim to broadcast as many of the Resonate pieces as possible.
The fund is available to all members of the ABO and includes all works commissioned by a professional orchestra and also written by a British composers since 1990. The ABO have created a comprehensive database of eligible works of which over 90 are written by Chester Music Ltd and Novello & Co Ltd composers.
There is a huge variety of repertoire available from short concert openers such as Stars, Night, Music and Light by Judith Weir to large scale works for chorus and orchestra including Requiem by John Tavener.
