The Music Sales Group, one the world's leading publishing companies, is recruiting a Creative Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the promotion of composers and music to the orchestral and choral markets in the UK and Europe.Our publishing houses include Chester Music, Novello & Co, G Schirmer, AMP, Edition Wilhelm Hansen, UME and Leduc, with living composers including Judith Weir, Joby Talbot, Ludovico Einaudi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Tarik O'Regan, Thea Musgrave, Tan Dun, Kaija Saariaho, Peter Maxwell Davies, Paul Mealor, Philip Glass and many others. Some highlights of the back catalogue repertoire are works by Igor Stravinsky, Francis Poulenc, Samuel Barber, Malcolm Arnold, Witold Lutosławski, Richard Rodney Bennett and John Tavener. The successful candidate will have hands on experience of the concert music world and a working knowledge of classical music and today's composers, together with an enthusiasm for promoting the music nationally and internationally. The Creative Manager will be expected to work with third parties to drive the commission of new works for our composers in these genres. The job requires some out of hours working in the evenings and at weekends, plus travel as required.
About the candidate:
A successful candidate will have:
1. An academic qualification in music
2. At least two years' experience of working in the promotion or performance of both classical and contemporary music
3. A strong knowledge of the music industry (orchestras and choirs in particular)
4. Excellent written English and communication skills
5. First class interpersonal skills
6. Working use of Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
Salary
