Benois de la Danse 2015: Talbot and Pook
The nominations for the Benois de la Danse 2015 have been announced. The awards, often dubbed the 'Oscars' of the dance world, were established in Moscow by the International Dance Association and first took place on the Bolshoi stage in April 1992. The famous choreographer Yuri Grigorovich is Artistic Director and President of the Jury.

This year Joby Talbot has been nominated in the 'Composers' category for his score to The Winter's Tale with The Royal Ballet. The choreographer Christopher Wheeldon has also been nominated for his work on this ballet in the 'Choreographers' category. In addition the dancer Edward Watson has been nominated in the Male Dancers category for his role as Leontes in the same production.

Also in the 'Male Dancers' category, Akram Khan is nominated for the leading in Dust, the collaboration between Akram and Jocelyn Pook at English National Ballet.

A Charity Gala for the nominees and the Award Ceremony for the Benois de la Danse will take place on May 26 at the Bolshoi Theatre.
