Success for Tarik O’Regan’s work with Sydney Dance Company
Tarik O’Regan’s recent project with Sydney Dance Company and Artistic Director and choreographer Rafael Bonachela has received some wonderful reviews from the premiere in October. A number of the reviews give special mention to the musical score and the way the choreography and music so beautifully entwine.

Premiering at Sydney Theatre, Louder Than Words, used recorded material from O’Regan’s Scattered Rhymes. Working alongside Australian composer Nick Wales, a new work was commissioned - Scattered Rhymes (dance version). The result was a 30-minute work as part of a double-bill.

Time Out Sydney writes:

‘Bonachela’s achieves that sublime experience when music, movement and design coming together in euphoric alchemy: the choreography and the score seem to describe each other perfectly, seem so perfectly enmeshed as an organic whole that it’s hard to imagine one without the other.’

Limelight magazine writes:

‘…O’Regan and Australian composer Nick Wales have worked a minor miracle by seamlessly fusing the a cappella original with new electronic music that frames, offsets and enhances to create something that they call Dance Score.' 'I frequently found myself writing phrases like: “this is so beautiful” – and it is, again and again'
