News - Armstrong’s Orlando in Glasgow

Friday, March 14, 2014
Orlando, featuring an original soundtrack by composers Craig Armstrong and AGF, is a cutting-edge music theatre adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s glorious ode to lover Vita Sackville-West, directed by Cryptic’s Cathie Boyd.

Orlando will be presented at the CCA in Glasgow from 27-29 March 2014. The adaptation opens with the hero as a young man in Elizabethan England, and follows his transformations of fortune, love and even gender in this multi-faceted, century-spanning quest for ‘life and a lover’. A sensuous epic of self-discovery, Virginia Woolf’s novel has been described as ‘the longest and most charming love letter in literature’.

Orlando will then receive its American premiere at the Alexander Kasser Theater, Montclair as part of Peak Performances in April 2014.
