The world premiere of Kevin Volans’ Percussion Concerto will take place on March 8 and 9 2014 at the Färgfabriken Art Gallery. KammerensembleN, an innovative Swedish ensemble committed to the performance of contemporary chamber music, have commissioned the work with the support of the Irish Arts Council. The percussion soloist will be Jonny Axelsson, a musician who has been collaborating with Volans’ since 1997. The Percussion Concerto will be performed along with one of Volans’ earlier works The Partenheimer Project.
