The Winter's Tale

The Winter's Tale
Joby Talbot has written the score to the world premiere of a new full-length ballet by choreographer Christopher Wheeldon (Artistic Associate of the Royal Ballet) based on Shakespeare's enduring tale of love, loss and reconciliation. The Winter's Tale will receive its premiere performance on the main stage of the Royal Opera House on April 10 2014 and runs through to May 8.

Having worked together on the acclaimed Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Wheeldon and Talbot continue their collaboration with Shakespeare's late, great romance. The story follows the destruction of a marriage through consuming jealousy, the abandonment of a child and a seemingly hopeless love. Yet, through remorse and regret - and after a statue comes miraculously to life - the ending is one of forgiveness and reconciliation. The Winter's Tale is one of the highlights of The Royal Ballet Season.

Booking has already opened and tickets can be purchased from the ROH website.
