News - 60 Minutes of the Dessners
Friday, November 30, 2012
On December 14 the
Copenhagen Philharmonic
will feature Chester Music composer
Bryce Dessner
as both composer and performer in their groundbreaking “60 Minutes” concert series.
Aaron and Bryce Dessner
The evening includes country premieres of Dessner’s
Lachrimae
, co-commissioned by the Copenhagen Philharmonic and
St. Carolyn by the Sea
featuring Dessner and his brother Aaron Dessner on electric guitar. Also included are works by Jonny Greenwood and Steve Reich, the latter of whom has been a major influence on Dessner’s work.
The “
60 Minutes
” concerts are collaborative evenings of contemporary creators in music, art and film, curated and conducted by André de Ridder. They offer the audience an informal opportunity to meet the musicians and artists followed by 60 minutes of orchestral music. The night is wrapped up in the lounge with a low key DJ set inspired by the theme of the evening.
