The 2012-13 season kicks off with an extraordinary array of exciting premieres, collaborations, and innovations.
Highlights include Rolf Wallin’s Manyworlds, Philip Glass’ seminal opera Einstein on the Beach, André Previn’s Concerto for Violin and String Orchestra, Per Nørgård’s Symphony No. 8, Peter Maxwell Davies’ The Whispering Gallery, Bright Sheng’s The Blazing Mirage, Avner Dorman’s Frozen in Time, Bent Sørensen’s Serenidad, and works by Mark Adamo, Gabriela Lena Frank, John Harbison, Nico Muhly and Jay Greenberg.
Danish composer Per Nørgård’s much anticipated Symphony No. 8, commissioned by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will see its world premiere on September 19, 2012 at the Helsinki Music Centre.
The dance world continues to move to the sound of new work by Music Sales composers, with new scores by Joby Talbot, Jocelyn Pook, and Nico Muhly in the Netherlands, Los Angeles, and London.
