The spring is a very busy time for Eric Whitacre with events taking place worldwide. On February 1 at Cadogan Hall in London, he gave the third ever live concert with his professional choir, The Eric Whitacre Singers.  The programme, titled Inspirations, paired works by composers who influenced Whitacre’s compositions with several of his own pieces.

Also in February, Whitacre returns to the gorgeous venue of St. Michaelis in Hamburg, Germany, to work with the incredible NDR Choir and over 1000 additional singers from the area. You can take part by downloading a registration form.

The second ‘Soaring Leap’ event, a dynamic, one-day workshop with Eric Whitacre, for singers, conductors and composers, takes place in Southern California on February 11. The day is comprised of reading, rehearsing and performing several of Eric’s works, as well as exploring his music and delving deep into the poetry and compositional tools. Read more.

On April 1, a ‘Come and Sing with Eric Whitacre’ event takes place at Carnegie Hall in New York. Apply here. Also in April, Whitacre premieres the new version of his Songs of Immortality on April 15, with the Rundfunkchor Berlin at the Berliner Philharmonie.

Foundation Excelentia has invited Whitacre to lead a series of workshops with singers from all over Spain, culminating in a final concert at the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid on April 30.
