It has just been announced that Chester Music composer Eric Whitacre will be Composer in Residence at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge for a period of five years beginning on September 1 2011. In his tenure at the college Whitacre will offer advice to students and more broadly on the music scene. He will also give masterclasses and teach courses on the new MMus Choral Conducting programme. In addition an annual composition prize will be founded.
