. The disc surveys Joubert’s output, from the early

Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in A
, written in 1968 for St George’s Cathedral, Cape Town, and the
Passacaglia and Fugue
for organ performed by Ashley Grote. Most significant however, are two larger works.
is a setting of texts by John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester during the seventeenth-century.
Five Songs of Incarnation
is the most recent work on the disc and was commissioned in celebration of the composer’s eightieth birthday in 2007. The piece is s cycle of Christmas carols on Medieval texts, each linked by a tenor solo.
Joubert is currently at work on an
for performance at the Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester in 2010.
