Programme Note

Paul Mealor’s Between Eternity and Time is a setting for soprano and piano of three poems by Emily Dickinson; Come slowly, Eden!, The Bequest, and The heart asks pleasure first. It was commissioned by Irene Drummond, with funds provided by the Scottish Arts Council, and first performed by her with Alasdair Beatson (piano) at King’s College Chapel, Aberdeen, on 6 November 2008.
