Shing Kham was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association Gustavo Dudamel, Music Director and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon, Portugal) The work was composed for Pedro Carneiro who gave the first performance on 3 October, 2013 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel conducting.
Written in 2011. Orchestral realization by Oliver Knussen completed in 2013 with the assistance of Dejan Badnjar.
