Reviews
...a six-minute explosion of New York exuberance.
Richard Morrison, The Times,8/7/2007
The starter was a small recent work of real substance in the shape of Aaron Jay Kernis's brilliant New Era Dance. It made a tumultuous opening.
George Hall, The Guardian,8/6/2007
...audiences respond with enthusiasm to his music, which combines the passion of neo-Romanticism, the rhythmic pulsation of Minimalism and the exuberance of American popular culture.
K. Robert Schwarz, The New York Times,1/1/0001
...New Era Dance... brilliantly evokes the pulsing, rhythmic street music of Washington Heights (police sirens and whistles notwithstanding).
Annette Morreau, Music Magazine,1/1/0001
..there's Aaron jay Kernis's street-smart power-mix circa 1992. Latin salsa and crackmobile rap meets 1950s jazz.
Edward Seckerson, Independent,1/1/0001
