Programme Note

The title 'Echo Canyon' is inspired by the Brice Canyon in Utah, which I visited during the summer of 1993. There the red and orange rocks change tint according to the sunlight and the season. One feels transported, as if on another planet. The sound of echoes through the canyon remains deeply engraved into my mind. Time passes slowly there, one could even sense the rotation of the planet Earth.

'Echo Canyon' was composed based on my memories of this magical prehistoric territory.
