Programme Note
Premiere:
27 January 2008
New York Virtuoso Singers
Harold Rosenbaum, conductor
New York, NY
Composer note:
Harold Rosenbaum and the New York Virtuoso Singers have sung so many of my pieces so beautifully that each encounter with them renews my enthusiasm for choral music. In writing this Madrigal, the first piece I've written expressly for them, I wanted to try a different tone, one I can best describe as "madrigalesque," in which the continuity emerges spontaneously, even casually.
