Programme Note
Inte-nudda-golv ("Don't touch the floor") is the Swedish name of a children's game, where you try to move through a room without touching the floor. The titel refers to several things in the composition: There are a lot of natural harmonics - a technique which means that you don't reach the ground - "the floor" - of the tone. Secondly, it is music that tends to avoid the beats, but instead jumps between those. And, the music is mostly written in high register, that is: far from the "floors" of the instruments. And finally, it is a playful piece, an attempt to be inventive with only a few elements - as in the game.
Inte-nudda-golv was commissioned 2015 for the eminent Swedish string trio ZPR and is dedicated to that ensemble.
