Missy Mazzoli As Long As We Live (for chorus and 'Victoire' ensemble) (2011)
Composer note:
As Long As We Live began its life as a song for singer/pianist/composer Gabriel Kahane. The text, by Walt Whitman, is an excerpt from “Song of the Open Road,” which first appeared in his 1856 collection Leaves of Grass. The original version of As Long As We Live was generously commissioned by Linda and Stuart Nelson.
