Programme Note
The performing material for this edition includes two fully-realised parts, Continuo 1 (Harpsichord) and Continuo 2 (Organ), prepared in accor¬dance with Handel’s practice. The Organ is specifically required for Nos. 7(A or B) and 9, as well as fulfilling a continuo role in the chorus move¬ments. The Lute part in No. 7 is also included in the Harpsichord part, for alternative use when no Lute is available.
