Programme Note
Synopsis:
The fat Mr. Orlong invites people to a meal at which a group of very strange guests appear. The company is served by the pitiable Hunchback, who has great trouble warding off Mr. Orlong’s harassing humiliations. The relationships between the bizarre figures are characterised by all kinds of absurd incidents and puzzling events during the meal, which meanwhile take on an element of slapstick-like comedy. While almost exclusively actors act on stage, the singers are heard from the orchestra pit.
