This is the Gate of the Lord, a setting of verses 20-23 from Psalm 118, was composed for the Reopening Festival of Birmingham Town Hall and first performed there by Ex Cathedra conducted by Jeffrey Skidmore on 14 October 2007.
This is the gate of the Lord : the righteous shall enter into it.
I will thank thee, for thou hast heard me : and art become my salvation.
The same stone which the builders refused : is become the head-stone in the corner.
The is the Lord’s doing : and it is marvellous in our eyes.
