Programme Note
The material used in Petite suite de voyage stems from the music for the stage of Ibsen's Peer Gynt; that is, from the original score I composed for this play, which has nothing to do with the music Grieg wrote at the time.
The title, "Short Journey Suite", refers to a music that goes through different sonorities, which reflect the paths of the leading character. Gynt: "Going straight ahead is sometimes impossible, one must therefore make a detour; but in doing so one wastes one's whole life..."
Petite suite de voyage is dedicated to Silvia and Thierry con affetto and all my love.
