Programme Note

The title is a play on words: in German Augenblick means a very brief moment such as an eye blink, and in Hindu cosmogony, the great periods are delimited by time between Brahma's two eye blinks. These portions of time may seem extraordinary to our human condition since the one in which we are living lasts 253 000 earth years …

All this is just an intimation on my wish to pay homage to Indian music in general and to bamboo flute master Hari Prasa Chaurasia in particular.

Augenblick was composed for and dedicated to the Trio d'Argent.
