Programme Note
Trio for clarinet, viola and horn is shaped by the interplay between three relatively lyrical passages and the more active music that surrounds them. Throughout the piece there is a growing contrast between these more sustained, expressive moments amd the square rhythms and comic outbursts of the livelier material.
