Programme Note
Concerto no.2 for marimba and strings was written in 2000, premiered on students concert in Copenhagen with the polish Amadeus Ensemble. The theme of the concerto is the gentle, but relentless tick-tock of time. From this basic motif evolves mysterious and dramatic tensions as well as more introvert and subdued sections – only to end in the same steady rhythm of the clock.
