Programme Note
The arrangement of the first hymn is designed to be played antiphonally, and the music is scored accordingly with two distinct bands. There is a small amount of percussion required, and should be positioned centre stage. The second hymn is scored conventionally and requires playing of the utmost subtlety, especially when required to play pianissimo in full tutti.
