Programme Note
SQUEEZY was written between February and April, 1994, in response to a commission from the Royal Overseas League. The first performance was given by David Preston at Warwick University on July 4th, 1994.
The piece lasts about eleven minutes, and corresponds roughly with the old quick-slow-quick layout of the traditional sonata; the first part is in truncated sonata form, the second is a simple ariso, the third a miniature rondo.
