DEN AFBRUDTE SANG - ORFEUS OG EURYDIKE (THE INTERRUPTED SONG – ORFEO AND EURIDICE) - (1977).
Tragic madrigal comedy in two (unsuccessful) weddings. For choir and instruments (instrumentation is open).
This simple musical drama based on the myth of Orfeo and Eurydice was made for young singers, musicians and dancers from Denmark and Sweden, working with melodies and rhythms based on my so-called infinity series – also used in works like Turn (for solo piano) and Symphony no. 3 (for double choir and orchestra). The instrumentation is rather free, depending on singers, percussionists and instrumentalists at hand.
