Programme Note

This short tone poem is another of the composer's mementos of a Lancashire childhood - the kind of piece in which his music takes on Ivesian qualities of accuracy and fondness in recollection. We seem to hear a train go by at one point, but in general the piece is slow, whether its tone is reflective or dramatic.
