Animals and the Origins of Dance

Animals and the Origins of Dance is a parade of miniature concertos for conductors and ensembles who are frequently distributed into separate groups. Each short aphoristic section is a highly characterised dance movement of metrophonic chaopoly drawing on soundbites from the magical muses and magnificent menageries of South of the Tropic of Cancer. The movements are as follows, but not necessarily in this order:

Jitterbug Mécanique

Batty Bright-Eyed Ears

…and the bandicoot burst from his navel feeling hungry…

Anterlope Galante

Birds Weeping: poetics and song

Camouflage des Agr burst from his navel feeling hungry…

Anterlope Galante

Birds Weeping: poetics and song

Camouflage des Agréments

Disgraceful Bossanova with Lemurs

Pas de Chat: contagious rhythm

PeaCockaTouCanCanary

Galop des Chenilles

Highland Balls and Village Halls

Gégringolade des Pingouins
