Bent Fabricius-Bjerre doesn’t really need any introduction. He is considered to be the grand old man of Danish popular music. 

He is behind music for a wide range of films and TV-series. Fabricius-Bjerre was born in 1924 in Copenhagen and started his career as a jazz pianist. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and became engaged in popular music int he 1950s, both as a pianist, composer and businessman. He had international success with the single Alley Cat which reached no. 7 at the Billboard Hot 100 and received a Grammy Award. 

Fabricius-Bjerre is still active as a composer, and his list of works includes music for Danish classics Matador and Olsen-Banden and evergreens like Duerne Flyver ("The Doves Fly”) and Forelsket i København ("In Love with/in Copenhagen”).
