The Danish choir conductor Michael Bojesen is one of the most prominent figures in Danish choral music. Michael Bojesen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and is extremely active today as a composer, music teacher and conductor of the Danish National Girls’ Choir. In addition, over the past few years he has worked with several other professional vocal ensembles and amateur choirs in Denmark, and is currently at work with a number of projects that put amateur choirs together with symphony orchestras.
In the mid-nineties Michael Bojesen set a number of texts by Halfdan Rasmussen to music. These works are the definitive proof of Michael Bojesen’s unique artistic intuition and his ability to capture moods through moving melodies that he elicits from a wide spectrum of emotions. Michael Bojesen truly has many talents, which he is able to incorporate in his projects – whether as conductor of the award-winning chamber choir CAMERATA, as a composer for major national and international productions or as an initiator of new, exciting projects.
