Summary

Knud Torben Grabow Christensen, better known as Sebastian is a Danish singer, musician and composer. He started his career in the 1960s, travelling around Denmark singing his songs. Since then, he has sold 2 million records and composed music for others. Additionally, he has played more than a thousand concerts and worked with a lot of Danish singers.

The breakthrough came with his first album in Danish: Den Store Flugt – including songs like Når lyset bryder frem and Hvis du tror du er noget. In the following years he made his name as one of the most notable singer/songwriters in Danish rock with a folk-inspired and very personal sound.    

Since the late 1980s, he has mainly worked as musical composer. Musicals such as Treasure Island (based on R.L.Stevenson’s novel) and Ronia the Robber’s Daughter (Astrid Lindgren) have become huge successes.

He is one of Denmark’s most beloved troubadours and is responsible for some of the most unforgettable hits, enchanting film scores and successful musicals in Danish music history.
