Biography

Claude Lenners was born in Luxembourg in 1956. He first studied computer science before devoting himself entirely to music. He graduated in Musicology at Strasburg University and in harmony, counterpoint, fugue and analysis at the Strasburg Conservatory. He studied composition with Alex Müllenbach in Luxembourg, Claude Lenners was composer in residence at the Villa Medici in Rome 1989-91. In 1990 he was awarded First International Prize in the Henri Dutilleux Competition. Among his 15 or so works, two are for orchestra and were premiered by the RTL-Luxemburg Orchestra. Claude Lenners is currently teaching analysis at the Luxemburg Conservatory.
