Perpetua, the third collaboration between Michael Nyman and choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh will be unveiled in February. The pair first worked together in 1988 on the solo dance work 'Miniatures', for which Nyman wrote his seminal String Quartet No 2, and were re-united last year for 'Flicker'.

Their latest piece is centred on a newly compiled 25-minute work, scored for string quartet with bass clarinet, based on speech rhythms. Following the premiere in Preston on February 1, the work goes on an extensive UK tour, including three nights at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Theatre, March 2-4.
