Stuart MacRae has been awarded a one-year residency at the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia in Bamberg, Germany. The composer is one of a number of Scottish and German artists working in the visual arts, music composition and literature that will take part in the scheme, which is designed to allow artists the time to devote to a single project whilst also sharing ideas across disciplines. The award is made by the federal state of Bavaria with the assistance of the British Council in Germany and the Scottish Arts Council.

MacRae will take up the residency in April 2006.
