The Naxos String Quartets, the series of ten string quartets which Max will be writing into 2007, are all to be performed by the Maggini Quartet. The Maggini is now established as one of the finest British Quartets.
Their recordings for Naxos's acclaimed British Music series have won international awards including Gramophone Chamber Music CD of the Year (2001) and Diapason d'Or of the Year (1997).
The Maggini will premiere two quartets every season, starting with the first on 23 October 2002. Naxos will record two quartets at a time, and releasing one CD every year until the cycle of the ten quartets is complete.
