Edinburgh Festival - MacRae Opera Workshop

Audiences at this year’s Edinburgh International Festival are to be given a sneak preview of Stuart MacRae’s first opera. The composer will workshop extracts from his piece with singers from the Royal Opera House on August 28.

The opera, with a libretto by Simon Armitage, has been commissioned by the Edinburgh International Festival and will be premiered there in 2006. The workshop is a collaboration with ROH2’s Opera Genesis programme and is being staged as part of the Royal Bank at the Hub series.
