Bainbridge at Tanglewood

Bainbridge at Tanglewood
This summer will see the premiere of a new work from Simon Bainbridge based on Randall Thompson's “Alleluia”. “Alleluia” was commissioned by Serge Koussevitzky and the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the spring of 1940 for the opening of Tanglewood's new Music Center. To celebrate the Tanglewood Music Center's 65th anniversary, the TMC has commissioned variations on the Alleluia from Bainbridge and other alumni of the TMC Composition Program, representing the remarkable talent that has emerged from the six decades of the academy's existence. Variations will open the TMC Sunday-morning Ozawa Hall chamber music concerts throughout the season; Bainbridge’s work – Three Duos – will be performed on 14 August at 11am.
