IgorFest 2005
June 2005 sees the launch of a unique project in Birmingham - the performance of the complete works of Igor Stravinsky over the next three years: IgorFest. Central to this celebration one of the giants of twentieth-century composition will be the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, and there are to be collaborations with Birmingham Royal Ballet, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and DanceXchange. Complementing the numerous performances is a study day on 12 June. Renowned Stravinsky expert Paul Griffiths introduces Stravinsky's life and work, to be joined by a panel of experts, pianist Peter Donohoe, and musicians from the CBSO.
