His catalogue is ever-growing, with commissioned large-scale works for chorus and orchestra, alongside several pieces for choirs and two new brass band compositions.

Symphonies and Orchestral Music

Following the premiere of his first symphony, Symphony No 2 'Sacred Places', commissioned by North Wales International Music Festival, will be premiered on October 1 2016. Robert Guy will conduct the NEW Sinfonia at St Asaph Cathedral. Mealor is also currently working on this third symphony, a euphonium concerto and a new work for violin solo and string orchestra.

Choral Repertoire

Mealor's latest choral work sets text by Christina Rossetti. To Seek Where Shadows Are, is scored for mixed chorus a cappella and was co-commissioned by John Armitage Memorial and Pro Coro Canada. The UK premiere takes place at JAM on the Marsh on July 8.

The Shadows of War, for SATB choir, timpani, percussion and strings will also be premiered at the festival on July 14. This work is a Mass to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, 1916-2016 and it was commissioned jointly by the Welsh Proms and JAM. The Welsh Proms premiere performance takes place on July 19 at St David's Hall, Cardiff.
