Wood’s An Epithalamion premieres at the BBC Proms

This concert will also feature Frederick Delius’ Summer Garden, Maurice Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe – Suite No 2 and Carl Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto with soloist and former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, Mark Simpson.
Before the concert, Wood will be featured in a composer portrait, which will focus upon some of his chamber works as part of a conversation with Andrew McGregor.
The composer portrait will take place from 5.15-6pm in the Royal College of Music and will be followed by the premiere at 7pm in the Royal Albert Hall. Both events will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and the latter will be broadcast on BBC FOUR on July 30.
