'Let me tell you' by Hans Abrahamsen in Munich
Musacchio & Ianniello Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia
The performance history of Hans Abrahamsen’s song cycle Let me tell you is one of the most successful ones in the contemporary music scene. Barbara Hannigan and Andris Nelsons who both premiered the work with Berlin Philharmonic in 2014 are bringing the work to other renowned orchestras: on July 2 2015 Hannigan and Nelsons will perform with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in Munich. The concert will be recorded and released on CD in 2016 as co-operation between Winter&Winter and BR Orchestra. Boston Symphony Orchestra will be the next orchestra in February 2016 to perform the song cycle with Hannigan and Nelsons.

Since the premiere in 2013, the work has been performed 15 times and will be presented all over the world in the years to come. Hans Abrahamsen recently received the RPS Award for his setting of Paul Griffiths’ subtle text related to Ophelia’s words of Shakespeare’s drama Hamlet.
