Park Lane Group Memorial Concert for John McCabe

John McCabe was a prolific composer, with over 200 works to his name. He was also a virtuosic pianist, who recorded all of Haydn's piano sonatas as well as the complete piano works of Nielsen. Following his passing in February of this year, the Park Lane Group will be holding a memorial concert in the Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre on June 12 2015 at 7.45pm. The programme will focus mainly upon piano works, including two of Haydn’s Sonatas. The works featured will be:

McCabe - Upon entering a Painting, for piano 4-hands (2009)
Haydn - Piano Sonata in G min, Hob XV1:44
McCabe - Tenebrae (1993)
Haydn - Piano Sonata in B min, Hob XVI:32
McCabe - Evening Harmonies (Hommage à Dukas) (2000)
McCabe - Scrunch (Omaggio a Domenico Scarlatti) (2001)
McCabe - Sonata ‘Haec Dies’ for trumpet and piano (2014) (London Premiere)

Simon Desbruslais and Clare Hammond - Trumpet and Piano
