On November 29, the National Audiovisual Institute of Poland are presenting a concert curated by Filip Berkowicz to celebrate the lives of three great Polish composers, Witold Lutosławski, Krzysztof Penderecki and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. As part of the celebrations, Chester Music's Bryce Dessner has been commissioned to write a 20 minute work for string orchestra entitled Réponse Lutosławski, inspired by Lutosławski's masterpiece Musique Funèbre. The concert will be performed by the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Bassem Akiki at the Grand Theatre Warsaw.
