The Music Sales Choral Binders offer a glimpse at the diversity of the recent titles within our Novello and Chester choral catalogues. Each binder focuses on different genres of choral music. The areas covered are Sacred, Secular, Christmas and Pops.

All of these titles can be purchased from your local music dealer or online from musicroom.com.

Choral Binder 2013 Volume 1

In the Sacred section there are several news works from our most recently signed composer –Paul Mealor. There are various works setting both Latin and English texts for a cappella choir, including Ave verum corpus and Locus iste. In addition, many of the last works composed by John Tavener are featured here. In particular, his second setting of the Nunc dimittis is very approachable.

In the Christmas section there is an extensive list of carol settings by Richard Rodney Bennett. Four of those are featured here and also Colloquy with God, one of his final compositions (Sacred).

There are also a number of titles in this binder which are included in the Novello New Choral Series – works by Francis Pott, Graham Ross, Jeremy Thurlow, John Duggan and Zachary Wadsorth.

The Secular section includes works by Zbigniew Preisner, Richard Allain and Tom Wiggall.


Choral Binder 2013 Volume 2

Choral music by Eric Whitacre is included here – Alleluia, The Chelsea Carol and Oculi Omnium. The remainder of the binder covers just a selection of our Novello Choral Pops titles. There are a variety of different voicings for many of the titles – SATB, Upper voices, SAB and TTBB. The recent arrangements include Diamonds are a girls’ best friend, The Tide is High, Fly me to the moon, Eleanor Rigby, White Christmas and Can’t buy me love.

Choral Binder 2014 Volume 1

Included her are two new titles from Edward Gregson - Peace, Perfect Peace and Three John Donne Settings. John Joubert, Patrick Hawes, Paul Mealor, James Whitbourn and Thea Musgrave all have titles here, both a cappella and with accompaniment.

Choral Binder 2014 Volume 2

This binder comprises of Choral Pops. Titles include When I grow up; Annie’s Song; Skyfall; Valerie and Nobody does it better. As ever, there are versions for Upper voices, SATB, SAB and TTBB choirs.

Many of the choral pieces on perusal in these binders can be heard on the Music Sales Choral Sampler 2013, which you can listen to online here.
