Chester Music becomes agent for PWM Edition

Chester Music, part of the Music Sales Group and the long-time partner of PWM Edition (Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne SA), is pleased to announce that it has become the agent for their hire catalogue in the UK and Eire. PWM Edition is the biggest musical publishing house in Poland.

The catalogue comprises almost two thousand titles, including the works of Witold Lutosławski and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki.  It includes Urtext editions, published with source commentaries, of the works of the most prominent Polish composers, including  Frederic Chopin, Henryk Wieniawski, Karol Szymanowski and Mieczysław Karłowicz. The catalogue also contains the works of outstanding twentieth century composers, such as Grażyna Bacewicz, Tadeusz Baird, Kazimierz Serocki , Romuald Twardowski and  Wojciech Kilar, and the more recent generations, including Zygmunt Krauze, Eugeniusz Knapik, Aleksander Lasoń, Paweł Łukaszewski, Paweł Mykietyn and Agata Zubel, whose music can be heard around the world.

James Rushton, Managing Director of Chester Music, comments:
“PWM Edition and Music Sales have been friends for a long time, in particular through their joint publishing interests in the music of Lutosławski and Górecki.  It is pleasing, therefore, to extend the relationship, especially at a time when there is growing interest in both the key figures in early and mid-twentieth century Polish music and also the younger generation of today.”
