San Francisco Ballet will perform encore presentations of two critically acclaimed works from the 2013 Season: Alexei Ratmansky's joyous trip around the globe, From Foreign Lands, and Wayne McGregor's arresting Borderlands, a fierce, driving study in movement inspired by the work of 20th-century visual artist Josef Albers. Borderlands is set to an electronic score by Joel Cadbury and Paul Stoney. Upon its world premiere in January 2013, the San Jose Mercury News said, “Borderlands offered dancers extreme physical challenges, and stunning moments abounded.”
